Relaxed, beautiful in-home meals designed around your family, with thoughtful menus, warm hospitality, plenty of flexibility, and absolutely no dishes waiting for you afterward.
Vacation Should Feel Like Vacation
Dining out with the whole family can be an adventure of its own. Reservations, traffic, tired toddlers, different dietary needs, and figuring out what everyone will actually eat can quickly become more work than fun.
Set in the comfort of your Maui vacation rental or home, our family dining experiences are designed to feel abundant, relaxed, and easy to enjoy together. We take care of the planning, shopping, cooking, setup, service, and cleanup so you can pour another glass of wine, watch the kids jump in the pool, and actually enjoy the people you came to Maui to be with.
Book us for one special dinner, a family celebration, or multiple meals throughout your stay. We’ll meet your family where you are.
FAMILY-FRIENDLY BY NATURE
We really, truly, love kids!
At Lotus Chefs, we genuinely love cooking for families of all shapes, sizes, and ages. From babies tasting tropical fruit for the first time to grandparents gathering around one more shared meal, we believe every guest deserves to feel seen, included, and thoughtfully cared for.
We understand that when little ones are happy, everyone relaxes. We’re happy to simplify flavors, serve children first, accommodate selective eaters, and create special plates based on age, allergies, preferences, or even tooth count.
We love introducing keiki to tropical fruit, local ingredients, and colorful new flavors. We also understand that sometimes a child on vacation just wants chicken, rice, fruit, or something familiar.
Parent to parent, we get it.
Ages 5-11: 50% of adult pricing
Under 5: dine complimentary

And because hospitality extends beyond the plate, we love bringing little extras for our younger guests, from Lotus Chefs coloring pages and crayons to stickers and other small surprises.

Family Dining Investment
We believe it’s helpful to have a realistic sense of investment before you inquire.
Family chef experiences generally begin around $110–225+ per adult, before tax and administrative fees, depending on your group size, menu selections, staffing, and level of service.
Because every booking includes the chef team, planning, shopping, onsite preparation, setup, service, and cleanup, smaller gatherings naturally have a higher per-person investment while larger families share those foundational service costs.

Children under 5 dine complimentary, while children ages 5–11 are 50% of standard adult dining pricing.
Little Chefs Welcome!
ADD A KEIKI COOKING EXPERIENCE!
Want to turn dinner into part of the vacation adventure?
Our hands-on keiki cooking experiences give younger guests a chance to mix, make, taste, and create with our wonderfully kid-friendly team, while the grown-ups enjoy a little time to relax.
Experiences can be adapted for different ages and abilities and added to select family chef services. They’re playful, low-pressure, and designed to let kids experience food with curiosity rather than expectations.
And yes, toddlers are welcome with age-appropriate participation and an adult nearby!
ROOTED ON MAUI
Island Ingredients, Made for Sharing
Maui is home, and its farms, waters, makers, and multicultural food traditions are woven throughout the way we cook.
Whenever seasonality and quality allow, we prioritize ingredients grown, raised, caught, and created here in Hawaiʻi, from fresh produce and seafood to local meats, sourdough, honey, jams, pastries, and other special touches.
Our menus draw inspiration from Hawaiʻi’s layered culinary history and generations of cultural exchange across the islands, alongside the backgrounds, travels, and creativity of our individual chefs.
The result is colorful, seasonal, island-inspired cooking that feels connected to Maui without asking every person at the table to have the same palate.
Local produce goal: 90%
Chef + hospitality team: all wahine
Maui first: whenever possible
Makers we love: small + local
Guest reviews: all 5 star
Made for you: menus thoughtfully customized
Rooted on Maui, inspired by the people around our table. Every gathering brings together local ingredients, thoughtful hospitality, and a little bit of each chef’s own story.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Family-Style Dining only for families with children?
Not at all! Family-style describes how we serve the meal, not who gets to book it. While families especially love this service, couples, groups of friends, and adults traveling together often choose Family-Style Dining because they prefer the relaxed pace, abundant shared dishes, and easygoing atmosphere. Keiki are always very welcome, but definitely not required.
Can you accommodate picky eaters and young children?
Absolutely. Family-friendly service is one of our specialties. We can simplify flavors, create age-appropriate portions, serve children first, or prepare familiar alternatives when appropriate. We consider age, allergies, preferences, and sometimes even tooth count when planning for our smallest guests.
What if someone in our family has a food allergy or dietary restriction?
We regularly work with food allergies and sensitivities as well as gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, wellness-focused, and mixed-diet groups. Many dishes can be modified, while some needs may require separate preparation or an alternative dish. If there is something we cannot confidently accommodate, we’ll let you know during planning.
Do you have a kids’ menu?
Rather than limiting children to one standard kids’ menu, we adapt our family menus to the children actually sitting at your table. Whenever possible, we try to match the energy of the “adult meal” by modifying items for children, such as leaving sauces and spice on the side or simplifying ingredients and cooking for picky eaters. That all being said, we’re always happy to make pasta with butter, quesadillas, mini sandwiches, steamed veggies, hand make chicken nuggets or grab organic dino nuggets. You just let us know what will get eaten with the least amount of fuss.
Do children cost the same as adults?
No. Children under 5 dine complimentary, and children ages 5–11 are 50% of standard adult dining pricing. Cooking experiences and other add-ons have separate pricing.
Can you cook for us throughout our entire Maui stay?
Absolutely. Multi-day and full-stay hospitality are some of our favorite ways to work with families and groups. Tell us your travel dates, how often you’d love some help with meals, and what your days tend to look like. We’ll create rotating menus and a customized proposal around the rhythm of your stay.
Is multi-day service priced differently than a single dinner?
It can be. Guests booking 3 or more service dates may qualify for preferred multi-day pricing and additional benefits, such as waived travel fees or complimentary enhancements. Your package is customized around your dates, location, menus, group size, and service needs, so we’ll include the specifics in your proposal.
Do you clean up afterward?
Yes. Always. Family chef services include a full kitchen and dining-area reset, including dishes, surfaces, and floors. We want you enjoying your vacation, not cleaning the kitchen after us.
What does our vacation rental need for chef service?
We generally need a functional kitchen with an oven, grill, sink, dishwasher, refrigerator, and basic kitchenware, as well as a dining area able to accommodate all of your guests. Lotus Chefs brings specialty culinary equipment needed for your selected menu. If you’re unsure about your rental kitchen, send us the property information and we can help determine whether it will work.
Do you serve all of Maui?
Yes. Lotus Chefs provides private chef services throughout Maui, including Wailea, Kihei, Lahaina, Kaanapali, Napili, Paia, Haiku, Makawao, Pukalani, Kula, Kahului, and Wailuku. Travel fees and logistical requirements vary depending on service location.
What size groups do you serve?
There is no minimum guest count. We’re happiest serving groups of roughly 6–20 guests, but we regularly work with smaller families and can accommodate gatherings of up to approximately 60 guests when the property, kitchen, menu, and service logistics are a good fit.
What is included in a typical chef service?
At Lotus Chefs, we don’t just drop off dinner, we bring a full-circle hospitality experience into your home. Every booking includes custom menu planning tailored to your family’s tastes and dietary needs, plus ingredient sourcing and shopping with a strong focus on local and organic producers. When we arrive, we come ready to create a seamless in-home dining experience: from setting the table to cooking and plating, activities for keiki, pouring still or sparkling spa water, telling stories about the food, and styling your meal with optional tablescape details. After the meal, we handle the full kitchen cleanup, leaving nothing behind but full bellies, good memories, and most likely some leftovers.
Can you watch or entertain our children while the adults eat?
We love interacting with kids! We offer a special pre-dinner cooking class for ages 1-11 that allow the grown-ups to enjoy a pre-dinner magic hour with appetizers and drinks uninterrupted. However, our standard chef services do not include childcare or non-culinary guest supervision. An adult should remain responsible for children throughout the experience.
How long will the chef team be at our home?
Most Lotus Chefs family services require approximately 4–6 hours on-site, depending on your menu, group size, and level of service. Typically, we’ll arrive 2- 3 hours before service begins and leave about an hour after dessert. This includes the time needed for onsite preparation, setup, service, and cleanup. We build our schedule around your ideal meal time.
Note: You do NOT have to be onsite while we prepare your meal! Many groups are out at the beach, spa, or excursions while we get dinner ready.
Your Vacation. Your Family. Our Table.
The meals we remember most rarely have much to do with perfect table manners.
They’re the ones where everyone was finally together. Where the toddler actually ate something. Where someone told a story you hadn’t heard before. Where nobody was checking the reservation time, waiting for the bill, or wondering who was going to deal with the kitchen.
Whether you’re gathering three generations for one special dinner or simply want someone else to think about meals for a few days, we’d love to make your time together easier, more delicious, and a little more magical.
Tell us where you’re staying, who you’re bringing together, what everyone loves to eat, and anything we should know about the little ones.
We’ll take it from there.
No commitment required. Your request simply gives us enough information to recommend the right service and send you our current Family Dining Guide, menus, and pricing.
